Big exciting news! We’ve made it to the final three in the Best Shop or Market category of the BBC Food and Farming Awards 2019 – WAHOO!
We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who nominated us, and to our incredible street food chefs, producers, makers and all-round foodie geniuses. We’re so proud and pleased.
The next step is a visit from the judges, acclaimed food writers Leyla Kazim and Mark Diacono, on Saturday 13th April. They’ll be finding out all about our story as a social enterprise market, chatting to stallholders and probably you guys too – so make sure you pop along!
The winner will be announced at a ceremony in Bristol in June. We’re the only market in this category, but we face stiff competition from arts and health initiative Squash Liverpool and community green grocer A Small Good Thing. All three of us are flying the flag for fantastic food in the North West, and we all have a community/social focus too – so that’s pretty fantastic!
Obviously, we’d LOVE to win, but we’re already over the moon at making the final three. We’ve got everything crossed, so watch this space for more exciting news.
