Alongside our amazing stalls, we’ve lined up a whole month of live music, entertainment and fun at Levenshulme Market. Here’s what’s on in July 2019…
Saturday 6th July
Music: Vocal Harum – 12.30pm
Levenshulme’s very own a capella group will be performing live for your delight, a 5-piece weaving some serious harmonies, blending skilful melodies and covering tunes spanning the centuries. It’s going to be bliss.

Kids fun: Printing with John Pindar Arts, 10-4pm
John’s back at the market with his stencils, colours and plenty of enthusiasm – so bring along those budding little artists and have a go! Just £1 a child, and it’s great fun.
Saturday 13th July
Music: Sound of Thieves – 2pm
You guys absolutely loved them last time, so we’re delighted to announce that the awesome Sound of Thieves will be performing live at the market once again.
Using just a small loop-station and an electric bass as the backbone for their sound, the duo creates huge musical textures, along with hypnotising beats and searing vocals.
The story of the band begins in Nicosia, Cyprus, where Phoebe Pope and Jan Bures envisaged a sound bigger than that of just two people playing together. The concept proved to be a fruitful one, and within the first year of existence Sound Of Thieves performed over 100 concerts, before moving to the UK and playing at Samsara Street Sessions, the Salford Music Festival, Manchester International Festival, Manchester Jazz Festival, and even the Manchester City Etihad Stadium. This is going to be immense, we can’t wait!

Friday 19th July
Our International Night Market – Special Guest DJ Soulphoria – 7-9pm
For this month’s night market, we’re feeling mega inspired by the Manchester International Festival – so we’ve gone global!
Along with delicious street food inspired by cuisines from around the world, shopping and a simply fabulous playlist, we’ve lined up an incredible special guest DJ – Soulphoria!
From Lagos to Ouagadougou, from Accra to Yaounde and beyond: DJ Soulphoria will play an afrobeat/funk set taking you on a trip through West African culture and music from the 60’s until today.
Expect exploding foot-shufflers and hypnotic sauntering treasures with dosages of disco-funk bubble and dubbed out psychedelic boogie from the tropics. We are going to DANCE.
Saturday 27th July
Music: The Lonesome and Penniless Cowboys – 1pm
Our pals are back again by popular demand!
Mark Greer and Clive Mellor are the vocal heartbeat of legendary local Country combo, The Lonesome and Penniless Cowboys. This extra curricular activity also involves Blues, Gospel and the odd bit of Glam Rock.
Featuring Mark’s rootsy slide guitar and Clive’s virtuoso harmonica (as played with Richard Hawley, Liam Gallagher, Pete Williams etc) this music will take you on spiritual aural journey through America and 70’s Manchester. It will, in short, be a hoot!
